Here’s how we’re doing it.

Tech that works in
harmony with nature

We are committed to reducing our carbon emissions as fast as science tells us we have to.

Ambitious emissions targets, rooted in science

Ambitious emissions targets, rooted in science
We measure the carbon footprint across our business as well as on a product-level, and we’ve set ambitious, science-based emission reduction targets. These GN Group-wide targets were approved by the Science Based Targets initiative in 2022.

By 2030

In scopes 1 and 2 (areas under our direct control) we’ll reduce all carbon emissions by 80%. Scope 3 emissions (value chain emissions outside our direct operations) will reduce by 25 % from a 2021 baseline.

By 2050

We will achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 at the latest. In line with the criteria laid out by the Science Based Targets Initiative, this means reducing emissions by at least 90% and neutralizing the rest through investing in carbon removal.

Leading, not following

Building on our solid track record, we focus on three areas where we have the most impact

  • Sustainable Design

Design that impacts our experience, not our environment.

For our operational emissions (scope 1+2) we are rapidly moving all our sites to renewable energy. The majority of our sites already run on solar power and we will move all other sites to clean power by 2025.
Our largest supply chain climate impact (scope 3) comes from the materials and components in our products, and their transportation to customers around the world. These activities therefore lie at the heart of our decarbonization strategy.
For materials and components, our focus is on finding alternatives to virgin materials and working with suppliers on reducing manufacturing footprints.
We are also accelerating the shift from air to ocean freight and optimizing shipments. This has cut emissions from the transportation of products by ~12,000 metric tons CO2e in 2022, compared to 2021. We expect further reductions in future, when we have planned for even larger volumes to move by ocean freight, as well as further decentralizing final customization of products.

Lowering emissions,
at every turn

Our products help our customers reduce carbon emissions by helping to eliminate the need for unnecessary travel. But we need to do more.

Through life-cycle assessments (LCAs) of our products, we have a deep understanding of the carbon hotspots in our products’ value chain, helping us understand how we can effectively decarbonise. Whether it’s changing materials, improving energy efficiency or improving the packaging.

Travel costs carbon.
So we're cutting
it down.

One 15-hour round-trip between New York and London has the same carbon footprint as 2,600 hours of virtual meetings*.
That makes video conferencing up to 92% more climate friendly than flying.
This is great news for our customer that is looking for ways to reduce their own footprint. At Jabra, we walk the talk: we are committed to halving employee business travel compared to 2019.
When local travel is needed along with incentives to encourage car sharing and public transport, we’re also increasing electric vehicle charging points so staff can have a clean commute.
